NSW Raped?

I like to think of myself as a fair, open minded person who isn't overly bias and can cop it when the better man/team wins. I can't cop everyone saying that QLD were the dominant force in last nights game and NSW were lucky to get close, NSW were raped. AS I was watching the game with a few mates we commented at full time that Shayne "I want to be Bill Harrigan" Hayne and Tony "Little bitch" Archer should have went down to the NSW change rooms and requested each player to drop their shorts and bend over. They had been fucking them over all night so whats another few minutes guys! The level of inconsistency and SOFT penalties favouring QLD was ridiculous. Some main points that come to mind are
1. The Jarrod Hayne NO TRY. I believe it probably wasn't a try but can't be certain. How does Bill Harrigan look at the footage almost 10 times and then say definitely that it is no try. He has to have doubt in his mind and should have referred it back for a refs call. Bill is too arrogant to say he doesn't know anything so had to say NO TRY, what a joke.
2. Late in the 1st half Ben Creagh hits the ball up, gets tackled, gets to his feet to play the ball. Mick Croker comes in late and elbows/tackles Creagh to the ground and he loses the ball. PENALTY to QLD for not getting up to play the ball. I know what standing on you feet and playing the ball looks like and that was a fair example by Ben Creagh and he was penalised for it. NSW had momentum which was killed off by a blatantly poor call.
3. QLD attacking the NSW line, bomb goes up for Folau who collides with a NSW player also looking at the ball. Folau takes a dive and gets the penalty. Replay clearly showed both players only looking at the ball, another poor decsion. QLD score off the next set.

That was all in the 1st half and effectively ruined any chance of NSW winning the game. They did try hard in the 2nd half but couldn't bridge the gap enough. You again have to wonder how the 2 referees, linesman and video ref can all have calls that go against the same team on the night?
NSW can definitely be positive about their chances in game 2 as they showed with no luck and minimal ball they can compete with QLD.

  1. Referee's essentially lost NSW the game. I think we did remarkably well to get ourselves back in the contest and to within 6 points and a realistic chance of winning the game. The Hayne no try I think he stepped on the line, however it was very close. My only problem was that it took Harrigan in consultation with the onfield referees 4 minutes to make the decision, I think the try should have been awarded as benefit of the doubt. That decision and the time QLD had to recover from the onslaught turned the game on its head. The Creagh incident was a clear mistake by the refs, they got that wrong. The Hayne penalty was a penalty in my books, purely because he changed his line and did not even attempt a jump to catch the ball.

All up however those 3 penalties are all open to opinion and I am a staunch NSW supported and would have loved to have seen nothing more than NSW hammer QLD. These 50/50 penalties we got none and QLD got all of them. Which I think makes our outrage understandable.

I also didnt like the 2 ref system in Origin, the game is like touch not a grind which Origin is reknowned for.

  2. Harrigan got his wish. Its all about him. We're all talking about THAT decision instead of the game. What an arrogant c*nt he continues to be

Hayne should NOT have been penalised. he did not even look to see where Folau was and didnt take his eye off the ball. Poor decision.

Hayne's hit on the grub that is Slater in the 2nd half was also legitimate, ESPECIALLY in Origin!! What a soft game it has become because of such rules to protect the attacking player at all costs

  3. I disagree with the penalty on Hayne, I thought it was legitimate because he changed his line. If he didnt move into Folau's line he would not have been penalised.

Harrigan is the biggest ego in the game. Even if he was outnumbered 50 to 1 he would argue that the other 49 were wrong.

The hit on Slater was a corker from Hayne and should have been commended not scrutinised! I think the refs has a look or got a tip that the hit was fair because if the refs followed the process correctly it should have been a penalty. However commonsense prevailed and we made the right call. If only we showed the same commonsense across all rules and situations.

  4. Wow I must get off the Bourbons and try some of boxheads Peroni's. I didn't think the ref cost NSW the game. The Wing try and the Hayne try were off lucky bounces and Creagh's try was also a little fortunate. I know its hard to score points when the 50/50 decisions go against you but I felt QLD simply had more strike power and showed that they have been playing as a unit for a decent amount of time.
