Penrifffff Gooooone?

Penrith's Civoniceva out for seven weeks
Is this the end of Penriffffs charge this year. With Luke Lewis out on extended leave and Michael Jenning back, but for how long? I think this could spell the end of any of Penriffs chances this year. With only 10 rounds left and Penriff needing probably 6 out of 10 to make the finals, I think they will be hard pressed to do it without 2 of their best being there. Thoughts?

  1. Yep no chance now...I don't think anyone in the club can replace Lewis let alone Petro. Ill be collecting another $50 of Nina in about 10 weeks. Looking forward to it.

  2. Definately gone. Our only hope is an early return for Petero which wouldnt surprise me, the bloke is a freak. But even then it may be too late anyway, unless we manage a couple of wins without him.

The Riff need to start learning to win without him though, as he probably wont be around for too much longer unfortunately

  3. I got bashed on here when I even suggested they had a chance this season earlier on in the year. I am not convinced that he will spend 7 weeks out. However without Jenko aswell as Lewis they will struggle like any side missing their Top 3 players. If they can win this weekend it will help against an inconsistant Eels side and then they play: Rabbitohs, Raiders and Cowboys which isnt such a bad run and if they win a few in there and get these injured stars back they could still be in contention. If your in the Top 6 you are as good a chance as any! Im still optimistic but we can make a much more informed decision after this weekends game.

  4. Panthers Run: Parra (H), Rabbits (A), Raiders (H), Cowboys (A), Warriors (H). They should win 3 of those. That will take them to 24 competition points after 21 rounds. They will then need to win 3 of these final 5 games to get to 30 points which will get you in the 8. Dragons (H), Broncos (A), Rabbits (H), Eels (A) and Knights (A).

The next 2 weeks Penrith must beat Parra and the Rabbits. If they loose either im willing to put the red pen through them.

  5. mighty panthers will make the 8 -
as box said should win 3 of next 5
then a chance at home against overrated dragons and should beat either rabbits or eels and would not be surprised if 28 is enough

  6. Do you really think that 28 points will be enought? I hope so, Titans are on 24 and im still sweating on whether we will be in the Top 8 after the last 2 season fadeouts.

  7. was probably just being optimistic with 28 but there are 4 teams on 18 and the knights on 20 who have to play storm twice - might come down to last game of year when panthers play knihts up there

  8. Yeah it also depends I guess on whether those teams behind Penrith and Manly make serious runs for playoff positions ie: Warriors, Parramatta mainly maybe Canberra. They will all need to win a few in a row in coming weeks, after 3 more rounds I think it will be a much clearer playoff picture once we can put a red pen through a few teams. Im almost with George and Roscoe though, if Penrith loose this week then Id say goodnight.
