Stood Down! For this...

This is management and team discipline gone made…

let me get this right. He is a unmarried bloke and he takes a girl back to his hotel room for a shag.

And he gets stood down…..

If you have ever met Joel…. There is no way he is proficient enough in the English language to write the statement….

“I invited a young lady, who I'd been communicating with for a month or so beforehand, to my room at our team hotel and we spent some time together alone,'' Clinton said in a statement.

“By inviting the lady to my room, I clearly breached the club's strict policy, which is well-known to me and all the players. “At a time when the game is battling off-field controversies, this was a particularly foolish decision.

  1. If it is a team rule he deserves to be dropped for the game. The Broncos obviously want the players minds on the job and not on some bimbo that you have knobbed prior to kickoff. He could easily have knobbed her after the game and nothing would have been said

  2. yeah its a difficult one. very different to the sharks debacle or even the toilet cubicle with three broncos last year- this doesnt seem to be a case of a footballer taking advantage.
However, it's a team rule, so that means some punishment is fair enough.
Just saw the fine of $50K though- that seems a bit much for a guy who would be on about $150-200K

  3. I can't believe he is the highest paid Bronco forward. $275k a year...your kidding !!! The broncos gave him a $50k fine to reclaim some of the money they have wasted on him.

  4. Second worst contract ever. Only behind that of his great mate Ben Ross. Sharks are STILL paying him $400k a year. Defies belief

  5. Still an absolute joke that he was fined 50k for this!!! What a rourt!!! After all of the rubbish that has happened over the past 5-10 years in regards to off the field behaviour. The matter is not one for the Police, so why does he get fined 50k for a minor offence. They should fine him as Deevs said 50k for being rubbish!
