More League Idiots

Even after a turbulent season of rugby league the incidents still don't stop with players covering the back pages in the last 2 weeks. As I have said previously, this is a game that is losing credability by the second and can't afford its players to keep stuffing up and putting themselves before the game. Here is the latest series of incidents;
1. Paul "Grub "Gallen caught urinating in public and fined. I know that we have all done this but this is the ex captain of the Cronulla sharks and a NSW and Australian rep. Either find a better hiding place to piss or do it inside you moron. Probably 1 dozen players have been done for this in the last year so you have to know people are watching and waiting to dob you in.
2. Jake Friend arrested AGAIN. He had a fight with a cabbie which we have all done and then got stuck into the cops. Did I mention he was heavily BOOZED!! This dipshit has had that many chances in a short career he surely has to be cut by the Roosters if they are fair dincum.
3. Jonathon Thurston leaving the game? For a guy who was nothing and playing reserve grade at the Bulldogs, the Cowboys signed him and helped change his life and make him a superstar. Now he is saying the money will rule his decision and he may play rugby. Fuck off I say, let him go. Can't wait to see some big Islander or Sth African ruck your back off. Another spoilt brat who we don't want to lose but the NRL and Cowboys can't be held to ransom.
4. Danny Wicks dealing drugs. This guy was just becoming a cult hero for the Knights and the NRL and he goes and gets caught dealing large amounts of drugs. Sure he might not be on the biggest contract, yet, but if he continued to improve like he did last year he may have got up to a $200,00 contract sooner than later. Instead he will probably go to jail and get but fucked by larger humans than himself.

Rugby league desperately needs this new independant commission to be up and running ASAP. I think they need to be very severe on indiscressions in order to get the game back where it should be. eg Paul Gallen you got snapped pissing in public, 6 week ban for bringing the game into disrepute. If players are copping match bans rather than paltry fines they may behave better. If they still offend then they are given the year off or kicked out.

  1. Firstly, Gould is a fuckwit who thinks he knows everything and that League is the only game in the world.
    Secondly, do you really think an independent commission is really going to stop these things? There are many decent young blokes playing league, but there are many who are dumb, love violence (one of the reasons they are very good at a violent game) and cant handle their piss (partly because they get to do it less and less).
    You can make the punishments as tough as you like, but young, dumb blokes DO NOT CONSIDER CONSEQUENCES. Thats why they do dumb shit and thats the way it is. You will not be getting many Mensa candidates playing any professional sport, let alone steeped in bogan culture.

  2. Thats your opinion on Gould, I cant stand him as an in game commentator but I respect his opinion on all League issues because he is always spot on and tells it how it is.

    The Independant Commission isnt going to stop the dumb behaviour, and League isnt the only sport. IE - Beale and the QLD house robber who isnt worth remembering from the perfect sport of Union. They are dumb and reckless your spot on. They shouldnt be judged as much off the field anyway really they are paid to play sport not be role models.

    The Commission will bring a strict code of expected behaviour in and will have no investment in players, clubs now dont want to be hard on players because if they sack them they are only going to be picked up at another club. I think the Titans signing Greg Bird shouldnt be allowed, the Sharks did the right thing to punt him as did Raiders with Todd Carney and 18 months down the track they get off scott free and are back playing with an opposition club, why would you be strict on them if you were a club? Its your investment and money you pour down the drain.

    Personally I think if anyone transgresses off the field that leads to police action should just get a 1 or 2 year ban depending on the severity from the game and then after the ban they must return to their original club.

    I cant buy into the rubbish you spin on bogan culture ect. They know right and wrong, they know what is expected we dont need to make excuses for them. Culture has nothing to do with it. Regardless of where someone is born they live life and make choices, choices lead to action and the actions are judged right or wrong. No excuses. Im fed up with the bullshit excuses we make for them. Get rid of them and let the kids who are working hard and deserve a crack at grade have a go. I played with and against alot of good footballers who got no where because they were not a name, reputation or ego and unfortunatley thats how the game has gone which is sad for the good footballers both on and off the field who dont get a crack because the pecieved no nice guy policy alot of clubs have, they need a reputation or a loose cannon not a hard worker. Jarrod Sammutt and Todd Carney are prime examples. You know that Deevs, there are plenty of good footballers that go through St Doms who dont play grade that work their butts off and never get a look in because of the politics, and they are better players than those who do get there.

    These incidents happen because again they drink with reputations, im a superstar i need to drink a shitload and carry on like a goose to play up to girls or my mates. Its sad. Just go to the pub and have a few beers like everyone else, its not fucking hard.

    They dont need to be Mensa candidates they need to start acting like normal humans.

    The Independant Commission will finally get the game under 1 banner and will be run by people who dont have a personal agenda. Business men and women who will let the game flourish and will save shitloads of cash from the 800 different organisations and tree branches the game has at the moment running different parts of the game, its fucked. Anyone with a brain can see the structure needs to be streamlined. If it doesnt work it will still be better than what we have at the moment its laughable with the shit thats going on.
