CHEATING ENGLISH BASTARDS!!!!!!
Sure, it shouldn't have come down to it, but randomly sending out support staff at semi-regular intervals during the last hour of a Test match with one wicket to go is one of the most appalling bits of "gamesmanship" I have seen. "Gamesmanship?" Fuck that. It was cheating. Even the Pom commentators thought it was dirty pool.
It's unbelievable that it is allowed to happen and that the umpires and match ref did nothing about it. In modern cricket, to cling to outdated notions of captians being "responsible for fair play" as stated in the rulebook, is ridiculously naive. This is no longer a Gentleman's game- it is a big business for all concerned. Saving that Test match could end up winning the Ashes and making scads of cash for all the Poms, especially Strauss. Fat fucking chance, but if they do win, let's not forget that every member of the 2005 team got MBEs afterwards. For the umpires to shrug their shoulders and say "What can we do?" when suppport staff start wandering onto the field is piss weak and not good enough- they should've been chased off the field like Javed Miandad swinging his bat at D.K Lillee.
And fuck Souths too for deciding to pick this week to start trying against Penrith's reserve grade team. I still refuse to tip these shit eaters for the rest of the year. Fuck Souths, Jason Taylor, especially Russell Crowe and all of their drooling, toothless retard fans.

Ponting is easily the worst captain we have ever had. I rate Graham Yallop and Kim Hughes in front of him. His tactics looked a lot better earlier in that test but as Crackers said, bowling North in the crunch time was a disaster. With Panesar in they should have had the quicks on and would surely have got him out sooner than later. Worst case scenario, bowl him a barrage of bouncers and knock his head off. Retired hurt would have been the same as a wicket for Australia.
ReplyDeleteJohnson was fucking pedestrian at the other end as well. At least Siddle would have knocked their heads off as you say PAWD, and Haus would have been more of a chance of a wicket than the other pie chuckers. Surely the idiotic selectors have had a 'quiet' word to Ponting and maybe enrolled him into the 'Captaincy 101' class between the two tests....
ReplyDeleteDid anyone see the massive man boobs on that English physio at the end?? Made Doddsy look anorexic!
Great post Deevs, and great comments about Souths fans Crackers. Penrith were so decimated by injuries NATHAN SMITH was captain and the brains of the team that night!!! Winning against a team with 7 or 8 players out is not a revival..... and 1 good game against a reserve grade side does not mean John Sutton and Nathan Merritt should be playing origin tonight!!!!! 1 game does not make up for a season of mediocrity
ReplyDeleteCaptain Cranky "AB" wouldn't have bowled spinners near the end Roscoe..... he would have Siddle bowling chin music, with Boonie in close, and Healy and the slip cordon sledging repeatedly!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you didnt think I meant Hauritz Rob?? Because he is the biggest pie chucker of all at the moment! Hilfenhaus should have been bowling with Siddle, and maybe the odd over from Johnson who continues to amaze me with his wicket taking ability. Johnson continues to look very park-cricket-like, but keeps getting the wickets with the odd arsey ball after bowling a heap of tripe. All in all, Punter should be in the side for his batting only, because he doesnt live up to his nickname when captaining Australia unfortunately
ReplyDeletePonting isn't a great captain, but let's face it, he's not exactly flush with options at the moment. The only reason we were taking wickets is because of appallingly loose shots by the universally overrated English batsman. The only bloke who dug in was Collingwood- and they couldn't get him out for love or money.
ReplyDeleteJohnson is more erratic than Anna Nicole Smith, Hilfenhaus looks OK but is very green and Siddle is an honest trier, but not exactly menacing. Hauritz bowled OK but on that pitch Warne or even McGill would've got seven wickets on that last day. None of these blokes would've got a run in any of the teams captained by Taylor or Waugh, or even the later AB teams. Captains, much like coaches, are only as good as the cattle. Fortunately, our batting is still MUCH stronger the Poms and this, along with the livelier decks should be our salvation.
Having said that, Ponting is too conservative in his captaincy.
And also, I'm glad you all agree that Souths can get fucked.
