How good are the sharks going ??

Reni gets done for drugs !!

Just some more negative publicity for the sharks !!

Can things get any worse ??

Sex scandal - Yes (Matt Johns '02)
Drug scandal - Yes (Reni Maitua '09)
Alcohol problems - Yes (Brett Seymour '09)
Gambling problems - Yes (Michael Sullivan '07)
Poor performance on the field - Yes (Wooden spooners '09)
Club about to become obsolete- Yes (Money problems '09-'10)

Is it possible for this club to make any more negative headlines this year ?? - Yes

I am pretty confident the sharks are about to lose any sponsors they have left and that means bye, bye Sharkies !! I wonder if they will be able to pay the players to finish off the current season. I bet Barret and Tupou are regretting their decisions to join this doomed club.

  2. About time these Grubs get booted and a new Central Coast team is re born in their place. Not a re location of the Sharks a whole new club and team.

  3. Goodbye Sharks. Should have happened 20 years ago before Elle's Dad bailed them out of trouble. As PAWD says, wouldnt like to see them relocated to the CC though. Still want to see the Bears take up a spot there, and continually make the major semi final year after year just like they did in the 90s.

  4. Sharks are a club in crisis and as you guys suggest will be lucky to see out the next 12 months. I have heard rumours that any major deals which have been signed in the last 12 months and will be signed in the future will be underpinned and gauranteed by the Leagues club to say they will prop up the deals if the Sharks go under.

Relocation will not work fullstop. Any side, any city it will not work because cities want their own team and their own identity to embrace. Imagine if Penrith didnt have a team and they were going to move the Sharks into CUA Stadium as the Penrith Sharks, I dont support Penrith but rarely miss a home game. However if it was a relocated team I wouldnt go. Central Coast, South QLD and Perth should all be entered into the comp when we negotiate a new TV deal which makes the competition more financially stable and ensures teams will survive.
