Is there any such thing...

as a Season Ending Injury.

All Panther fans' hearts went into their mouths as we heard during the game on Saturday night that star centre Michael Jennings would be out for the season after injuring his ankle. Low and behold, he's almost a certain starter for Friday's City v Country clash. Jarrod Mullen, another who was out for the year before returning to the paddock for a 'surprise' return less than a week after doing his shoulder.

I've seen 'Life Bans' at the Lappo last longer than these latest injury spells. Where did these team doctors get their licences from? Or is it just the continued stupidity of commentators coming out with anything to get a reaction from the viewers gullible enough to believe everything they dribble about during the telecasts. That's another topic in itself.....

  1. Has to be the commentators. I know the Penrith Panthers medical team very well and they are on the money with their assessments and treatments of injuries. They would not have claimed he was out for the season the same night, they have to wait for the swelling and scans before making a call. They only see the acute phase of the injury and determine the risk of further injury if the player continues on.

The media love beating up a story and I think this is just another example of it.
