NSW state of origin team

The NSW team was selected yesterday with not too many surprises. I think they got a couple of selections wrong but overall it is a decent side and hopefully will make the origin competitive. Unfortunately I believe that whatever team NSW could produce will not be good enough to beat a red hot QLD line up. They will have to score 30 points in order to be a chance.
Here is my opinion on the side selected.
Kurt Gidley (capt) - Good choice
Jarryd Hayne - Red hot. Fullback is clearly his best spot but hopefully he will be good on the wing.
Jamie Lyon - Didn't want to be here a few weeks ago but killing it on the field. Won't let them down.
Michael Jennings - Can turn the game on its head. Will be good to watch. Good choice.
James McManus - Very lucky to be here. Monaghan for me.
Terry Campese - Only genuine 5/8. Mullen has been going good to though.
Peter Wallace - Easy choice.
Brent Kite - Very lucky. Would have loved to see Douglas get a crack
Robbie Farah - He can thank city v country for his start. His combo with Wallace was good.
Luke Bailey - Right choice.
Ben Creagh - I would have had him on the bench. Runs good lines but not convinced yet.
Luke O'Donnell - Tough. He is a peanut but hopefully he can hurt QLD.
Paul Gallen. - Should not be in the side after the racism stuff from the other week. I would prefer Stewart or Lewis here. Hopefully his shoulder is no good.
Interchange:
Craig Wing - Very, very lucky. You can thank Bob McCarthy for having Wing over Lewis. I think Lewis got the arse cause he reniged on his souths deal. It is the only way the form player (Dally M leader) was not picked. Laurie Daley stated they chose Wing cause of his versatility. What is he on about. Lewis has played everywhere but Prop. Worst utility decision in origin history.
Justin Poore - Better then Kite. Should be starting
Glenn Stewart - Reliable and will get the job done. Bit down on form last couple of weeks.
Michael Weyman - Will have good impact. Can fight.

  1. I'd have one of the benchies starting for Creagh and get him running wide at their centres after 20 mins.

Simply cannot believe GRUBBY Gallen is again in this side. I dont rate him as a footballer let alone human being. What does he do that is so special on the field despite carrying on like an absolute caveman...

  2. Great to see Watmough not get a start. How does Laffranchi play for Australia but not NSW, did I miss something, is he suspended?
Gallen is lucky Mickey Paea didnt rip his head off and shit down his throat for calling him a Black Cu&t.

  3. Forgot about Watmough. Laffranchi hasn't really impressed me so far this year. Maybe just a bit out of form, and needs this as a wake up call.

Hopefully the real Brent Kite shows up in the first game and doesnt go missing as he so often does

  4. I don't think Watmough will play in any Bellamy coached team again in his life. Bellamy seems to hate him and he sent everything he had at Watmough when Melbourne played Manly. They made him look very ordinary. I was surprised he played for Australia and I am a Watmough fan !!

  5. It won't matter. Queensland will sweep and win all 3 by double digits. This is one of the strongest teams ever meeting arguably the weakest NSW teams ever.

I think the selectors did make the right call making changes and going with youth however.

  7. I have a ridiculous feeling we might get them too PAWD. And yes I will make a public apology with everyone else to Boxhead for my relentless sledging of Bellamy when he wins the series 2-1. If not, its bye bye Bellyache

  9. i think qld will win but it will be close the nsw forwards are better - the nsw bench is better
the backs are a different story obviously

absolute disgrace that luke lewis is not in the side and i can not believe i am saying this, the bloke was a bad winger / centre not long ago and barely deserved to make the teams he did a few years ago but this year i am watching games wondering why they are not tackling him (could have something to do with the fact these players are used to athletes just running straight at them all game and when someone with a little bit of football in them runs at them they get confused)

just shows how much a grub watmough must be in real life because he is a fantastic player and is one of the best backrowers in aust - enjoy watching the game grub

    wing should not be there

monaghan should have played and wolfman must have got a mention but mcmanus will go ok

glen stewart should not have been there, has been suspended anyway so lewis should come straight in

not totally sold on poore either
