Typical of today's Generation Me, Phillip Hughes logged onto this Twitter bullshit to announce to the world that he had been dropped from the 3rd Test some 24 hours before the start of play at Edgbaston during the week. One of the first things you realise about cricket, particularly at the top end of the game, is that you DO NOT announce your side prior to the opposition in case of giving them an upper hand in tactically picking a side to beat your already announced side.
But Hughes, who continues to remind me of Michael Bingle/Clarke couldn't help himself expressing his 'pain' at missing out on the 3rd Test on Twitter. Fair enough, I'd be pretty dirty at losing my spot to Mr Plasticine Man himself Shane Watson with a misely batting average of about 20 too, but hold your thoughts to yourself til at least 5 minutes after the toss of the coin you fucking idiot!
Absolutely correct. Symptomatic of the new breed of athlete- in particular in the Australian Cricket team. Too many boy-band bitches not enough tough pricks like Border and Waugh.
ReplyDeleteIf Hughes did this under the captaincy of either of those two he would have received a square cut to the face after the days play.
Dean Jones was less than happy at this poor effort by Hughes, wouldnt be suprised to see some good sledges thrown Hughes way from Jones. Hughes should be disciplined the best way possible, ban him for 10 test matches. If he deserves a recall after that he might have learn some respect for the Baggy Green and his team mates. People are going to say this is a storm in a teacup but thats BULLSHIT. Respect has to be shown for the team to move forward and win. No repect=poor results and team disharmony. We have seen this previously with that little grub M Clarke and his disregard for the team song after a test win last year. He should have been booted for 10 matches aswell for that.
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree, even though I like Hughes as a player and think he has alot of potential. I personally wouldnt have got rid of Matt Hayden we are really lacking experience.
ReplyDeleteI go past even saying it was dumb and arrogant ect. I think it was outright selfish, look at me look at me. It was the act of a tool with little respect for the game or his team mates.
